Twenty-five years of shoes that were nearly thrown away

Queenievaro Co. began the way most repair shops do: one bench, one finishing wheel, and a growing pile of footwear that people had been told could not be fixed. Most of it could. That has been the operating principle ever since.

Our work covers the full range of what walks through the door in Douglas County — Goodyear-welted dress shoes that need a proper resole, ranch boots that have been rebuilt three times already, hiking boots heading into their second decade, and handbags that fail at exactly the same three places every time.

How a job actually runs

You bring the item in or send photos. We inspect it, tell you what is failing and what will fail next, and give you a written estimate. If hidden damage turns up once the sole comes off, we call before spending another dollar of your money. Nothing gets done that you have not agreed to.

Materials we keep on hand

Vibram lugged and dress rubber, oak-tanned leather soling, stacked leather heel blocks, polyurethane tips, waxed linen and bonded nylon thread, and a dye bench for colour matching. Anything unusual we source, and we tell you what that adds to the timeline before we order it.

Our part of Colorado

The Front Range is hard on leather. Sub-30-percent humidity, road salt from November to March, decomposed granite on every trail, and 300 days of UV a year. Half of what we repair is climate damage that could have been prevented with ten minutes of conditioning a month — which is why we publish care guides rather than just selling the fix.
